Joe Jewell, currently a PhD candidate in Aeronautics at the California
Institute of Technology, also took his BS in Aeronautics
and Medieval History from Caltech and earned two master's degrees in
Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and the
University of Oxford. He is a US Department of Defense National Defense
Science and Engineering Graduate Fellow, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
Graduate Scholar, and a 2005 recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship, which
allowed him to spend three years living, working, and studying in
England.

Joe has to date authored or co-authored seven technical papers on
subjects within fluid mechanics ranging from bubble motion in water to
aerodynamics and rocket propulsion, as well as a bestselling SAT study
book ("Up Your Score: The Underground Guide to the SAT"). He subsequently
co-founded a dotcom company in the test preparation field and was named
one of America's "Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25" by Business Week in
2006.

Joe's non-professional interests include wine tasting (including a stint
judging at the International Wine Challenge, the world's largest wine
competition, in London this April) and music (an avid percussionist and
timpanist, he regularly volunteers as a drum instructor for high school
marching bands).

Joe is a native of Stevensville, Michigan, and was the 2000 salutatorian
at Lakeshore High School. He serves as a member of the Board of Elders
and Sunday School teacher at St. Paul's First Lutheran Church in North
Hollywood, California.
