Barbara Day is the Acting Vice President, Investment Funds of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (“OPIC”). www.opic.gov OPIC is an agency of the U.S. Government whose mission is to mobilize and facilitate the participation of United States private capital and skills in the economic and social development of less developed countries and areas, and countries in transition from nonmarket to market economies. OPIC supports qualifying projects and investment funds for new and expanding business enterprises in more than 150 countries in the emerging markets.
Prior to her appointment as Acting Vice President in January 2009, Ms. Day was legal counsel to OPIC's investment funds group. Before joining OPIC in 2000, she was a partner with the lawfirm Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, Washington, D.C. and practiced law in San Francisco, CA. Ms. Day holds law degrees from Georgetown University Law School (LL.M international and comparative law) and the University of Notre Dame.
Graduated, Michigan State University (’76) and Lakeshore High School (‘72). Is a member of Ars Choralis community choir in Alexandria, Virginia and teaches Sunday School at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Heathsville, Virginia.
